Welcome from the Friends of Eastwood Farm

Eastwood Farm Local Nature Reserve is a little known wildlife haven by the side of the River Avon in Brislington, Bristol.

Eastwood Farm is owned by Bristol City Council and managed by Bristol Parks, it was designated as a Local Nature Reserve in January 2008. Formerly farmland, part of the site was used for landfill in the 1970s and there was a plan to build a road acoss it.

Now it is a beautiful open space enjoyed by people and wildlife.

Take a walk along the watermeadows and you could see swans, kingfishers, coots, buzzards, squirrels, herons, mallards, moorhens, and many more. You may even see our ‘Parkie’ – Julian Thomas – who is a mine of information on the site and its wildlife.

Friends of Eastwood Farm work with Bristol Parks to make sure Eastwood Farm is well looked after and to organise public events such as walks, talks and other community activities. If you would like to find out more please come along to one of our events or regular meetings
